Volunteer in the field
Every gesture counts, every volunteer makes a difference.
Together, let's contribute to the conservation of primates and their forests.
A unique adventure
Much more than a simple volunteer commitment, it's a total immersion in a unique environment, where each day brings its share of discoveries and challenges. Joining AKATIA means choosing to live an unforgettable experience that will leave its mark on your life and that of the primates you help.
Making a positive, tangible impact
Volunteers play a crucial role in protecting chimpanzees and small monkeys. By taking part in day-to-day activities such as rescuing primates, rehabilitating them and maintaining sanctuaries, you are making a direct contribution to the preservation of these endangered species.
Learn and grow
By working in the field, you will develop a wide range of skills, from animal management to building and maintaining the sanctuary's infrastructure. You'll also learn to work as part of a team in conditions that are sometimes rudimentary but always rewarding. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new about the local flora and fauna.
A multicultural human experience
Life at the camp is a real immersion in nature. The simple living conditions reconnect you with the essentials. You'll experience life in the forest and live in a rich cultural and human environment, creating unforgettable bonds.
Contribute to a global project
By joining AKATIA, you will become an essential part of a large-scale conservation project. You'll be contributing to concrete action against poaching and habitat destruction, and helping to raise public awareness of the need to protect primates and their ecosystems.
